The honest answer

Why does our shade sail cost more than the one at the hardware store?

It's a fair question, and we'd rather answer it properly than dodge it. A $250 sail and a $2,000 sail look identical in a photograph. Here is every way they aren't - and how to check each claim yourself.

Over ten years, a cheap sail needs replacing two or three times. You'll spend roughly the same money. You'll just spend it three times, and be without shade in between.

Here's the part nobody mentions: Gale Pacific makes the inexpensive sails sold in US hardware stores and the Commercial 95 architectural fabric we use. The same company maintains the same two tiers. This isn't our marketing - it's how the industry actually works.
